Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular because they are environmentally friendly, economical and dynamic. However, many models have such a high price that people of average wealth cannot buy them.
Of course, the market offers economical and budget eco-friendly cars that many can afford, but there are also powerful, luxurious electric cars that only the rich can afford. A list of such vehicles has been shared by GO.
Porsche Taycan
Many electric cars that command incredibly high prices are electrified versions of gas or gasoline models.
The 2024 Porsche Taycan EV has an initial US retail price of $90,900. The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo starts at $101,900, the Taycan 4S at $111,700 and the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo at $118,200. It is worth noting that in Ukraine the price may be even higher.
Audi e-tron GT
Porsche isn’t the only German luxury car maker whose electric vehicles are beyond the budget of most average families.
The Audi e-tron GT offers luxurious looks and high-quality performance characteristics. In the US market, the price of a car with 523 horsepower starts at $106,500.
Mercedes-Benz EQS
Rounding out the trio of luxury German electric vehicles that the vast majority of people can only dream of buying is the six-seat Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan.
It has a range of approximately 560 km and starts at $100,000.
Rivian R1T
Luxury sedans and high-end sports cars aren’t the only ones tempting middle-class buyers.
Rivian’s first production model, the R1T electric truck, was released with a starting price of about $80,000. The up-and-coming American electric vehicle maker has since lowered the suggested retail price of its R1T pickup truck, but with a starting price of $69,900, it’s still out of reach for most buyers.
Hummer EV
There are four Hummer EV pickups with starting retail prices ranging from $96,550 to $148,000.
Additionally, Hummer also has a quartet of EV SUVs with starting prices ranging from $96,550 to $138,000.
Chevrolet Silverado
This is an electrified version of one of the most popular American trucks.
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV has a starting retail price of about $80,000.
